Khandwa (Madhya Pradesh): Villagers of Beed gram panchayat under Punasa tehsil are facing numerous problems that are making their day-to-day life very difficult.
One of the main problems is the Muktidham road, which is in a deplorable state despite lakhs of rupees being spent on its construction and maintenance.
Mourners must navigate the muddy, waterlogged path while taking part in funeral processions during the monsoon. One of the villagers died on Sunday, and villagers had to move along the sides of the road to reach the crematorium
Not only this, Muktidham is also in dire need of renovation as the tin shed and pillars have developed cracks. The sanitation in the village is also poor. The drains are clogged with garbage, and after rain, water flows on the lanes.
Villagers are angry with the sarpanch and the secretary for not resolving these issues and have decided to approach the collector to demand an inquiry into the panchayat's finances.
They said that no gram sabha meetings have been held, and decisions are made through forged signatures. They also alleged that panchayat secretary remains absent on many occasions and the office remains locked.
According to villagers, previous complaints to district panchayat regarding the poor state of infrastructure and sanitation in Beed fell on deaf ears.
