Kukshi (Madhya Pradesh): Stray dog attack has triggered panic in Kukshi town of Dhar district on Sunday. A total of 30 people were injured after a stray dog attacked them here.
As per reports, the stray dog targeted residents at prominent spots including Vijay Stambh Square, Cinema Square, Padav Road and Kachhari Chowk, leaving a trail of fear and a crowd of injured at the local hospital.
The victims were currently receiving treatment at Kukshi Civil Hospital. Chief Medical Officer Dr Abhishek Rawat assured the public that the hospital is well-equipped with sufficient anti-rabies injections to manage the influx of patients.
Meanwhile, local Congress leader Rajendra Patidar strongly criticized the Municipal Council, attributing the incident to their alleged negligence. Patidar highlighted the escalating stray dog problem in Kukshi, noting that several dogs frequently roam major squares and roads, causing risks to pedestrian.
He claims multiple complaints regarding the issue went unaddressed, with no proactive campaign launched by the council to control the dog population.
CMO Mayaram Solanki said that a Municipal Council team was dispatched immediately upon receiving the information to catch stray dog. Team located the animal and took it under control. They will further send it to a specialised shelter home and keep the animal under surveillance.
The incident has intensified calls for urgent action from the Municipal Council to address the growing menace of stray dogs in the town.
