Man dies after consuming poison, found at son’s doorstep
In a disturbing incident in Tilak Nagar, a 54-year-old man died by suicide after allegedly consuming a poisonous substance while under the influence of alcohol.
The deceased, Prakash Kanade, was reportedly struggling with alcohol addiction. Due to his drinking habits, his son had arranged separate accommodation for him in a rented room not far from the family home.
On Thursday night, Prakash is believed to have consumed poison while alone. As his condition worsened, he managed to stumble to his son’s house, but collapsed outside the gate. The next morning, his son found him unconscious at the doorstep and rushed him to the hospital — but doctors declared him brought dead.
Police have registered a case and conducted a post-mortem. Investigations are underway.
