Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 50-year-old woman was killed while her husband sustained injuries after a speeding container rammed into their bike at Bypass under Tejaji Nagar police station limits on Thursday afternoon.
The incident occurred near Ralamandal around 12:30 pm when the couple was heading to attend a family function in Rau. They were rushed to the hospital where woman was declared brought dead.
According to the police, the deceased was identified as Savanta Bai, a resident of Nayta Mundla. Her husband Radheyshyam said that they were heading to attend a family function in Rau on their bike when a speeding container hit them from behind, leading to fatal head injuries to Savanta.
The errant driver fled the scene after leaving the vehicle and police are gathering information about him on the basis of registration number.
Woman scooterist kills pedestrian
A 42-year-old man was killed after a scooter hit him while he was going to work on foot. The incident occurred around 8 am near Robot Square under Khajrana police station limits on Wednesday.
The young woman riding the scooter fled the scene after leaving the vehicle which was seized by the police. According to the police, the deceased was identified as Manoj Kumar Singnath, a resident of MR 9 Megh Vatika.
Her family members said that Manoj was a painter and was heading to his job on foot when a speeding scooter riding by a woman hit him, resulting in severe injuries. He was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
