Indore: West Discom To Give Notice To Divisional Engineers For Non-Performance

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh West Zone Power Distribution Company managing director Anoop Kumar Singh held a review meeting on Wednesday with over 80 engineers at the Pologround auditorium.

During the meeting, Singh warned power officials to complete tasks on time and instructed the chief general manager to issue notices to divisional engineers who were ranked at the bottom in performance.

He emphasized focusing on improving billing efficiency, reducing power losses, minimizing tripping incidents, ensuring timely provision of new connections, switching government connections to prepaid mode as per state directives, maintaining transformer health and properly servicing high and low voltage lines.

Singh directed officials to make serious efforts in the September Lok Adalat to resolve as many pending cases as possible, recover dues from old vigilance cases, and ensure timely entry of materials like cables, transformers, and wires received from the store.

Highlighting the importance of proactive maintenance, he instructed the regular use of thermovision cameras on high-voltage lines to detect even small “red points” early, enabling timely repairs and preventing prolonged power outages.

He also praised the suggestions of Indore rural superintendent engineer Dr DN Sharma and Ratlam superintendent engineer Manoj Sharma for their contributions towards consumer service and transparency.

Besides, Singh advised informing public representatives about new projects and sharing updates on media groups and social media platforms. He directed all officers to remain at headquarters, conduct night inspections at least five times a month, and continuously strive to improve departmental operations.

The meeting was attended by chief general manager Prakash Singh Chauhan, executive director Gajra Mehta, chief engineers Ravi Mishra, Kamesh Srivastava, SL Karwadia, SR Bamanke and city superintendent engineer DK Gathe, and other officials.
