Indore: Special Drive Soon To Control Stray Dog Population, Increasing Daily Sterilization | A-1 CREATION
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Within the next three days, a special drive will be run for six months to control the number of street dogs, increasing daily sterilization.
This will be done on all 7 days and the per day sterilization would be increased from the existing about 30 to minimum 75.
NGOs and citizens will also be ensured in the campaign
This action plan was drawn in a special meeting convened to discuss the problem of increasing canine attacks on people. Along with the indore Municipal Corporation (IMC), the participation of animal husbandry and veterinary department, NGOs and citizens will also be ensured in the campaign.
IMC commissioner Shivam Verma, Smart City CEO Divyank Singh and officials of other departments concerned were present in the meeting. Collector Asheesh Singh directed that the campaign should be run effectively keeping in view the safety of human life. It should be ensured that the results of the campaign were visible in the next six months. Under the campaign, all the officers should work with full dedication and diligence. Sterilization of street dogs should be done by setting a daily target, he said.

In the meeting, it was said that at present 25 to 30 street dogs were being sterilized every day. A target was set that after the next 2 to 3 days, a minimum of 75 street dogs would be sterilized every day. This campaign would run for 7 days a week.
Special help of doctors of the veterinary department will also be taken and the number of dog-catching vehicles will be increased. Along with this, other resources and facilities will also be increased.
