Indore: New 9-Km Road On Ganpati Ghat Inaugurated To Enhance Safety On NH3

Mhow/Barwani (Madhya Pradesh): Enhancing road safety on Ganpati Ghat - a major blackspot on Agra-Mumbai National Highway (NH3)- an approximately 9-km-long new alternative road route was inaugurated on Saturday morning. The event was graced by Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development Savitri Thakur, along with Indore MP Shankar Lalwani, Dhar MLA Neena Verma, district panchayat president Sardar Singh Meda, and BJP district president Manoj Somani.
The inauguration ceremony began with a traditional Puja on the road, followed by the cutting of the ribbon and flagging off of vehicles. The first truck driver to traverse the newly inaugurated route was welcomed with garlands, marking a significant moment for the local community. Minister Thakur announced that the official inauguration would be conducted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Emphasising the urgency of the project, she stated, "We are starting vehicle movement ahead of schedule to prevent the recurrence of past incidents and reduce waiting times for the public." Thakur highlighted her efforts in Parliament to advocate for the road's construction, asserting that it would significantly reduce accidents in the area. The guests also honoured the workers involved in the project with garlands.
Before the inauguration, the dignitaries visited the Ganesh temple and the Mata temple located nearby. After the ceremony, minister Thakur personally inspected the road, travelling along it in a vehicle. Senior highway engineer CL Vishwakarma confirmed that traffic would commence immediately, with plans for organised traffic flow towards Indore within the next 15 days.
