Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 28-year-old man in Indore’s Banganga area was found hanging late Monday night. Police recovered a 14-page suicide note blaming his wife and in-laws for his extreme step.
In the suicide note addressed to his mother, the victim requested her to not cry after his death. He held his wife, mother-in-law, and sisters-in-law responsible for his death. He also appealed to the government to reform laws, claiming they were being misused by women, and urged young men to marry only with legal agreements.
According to information, the victim, identified as 28-year-old Nitin Padiyar, worked as a professional photographer in Indore. Nitin had married Harsha Sharma, a woman he was in a relationship with, a few years ago. However, the couple’s relationship soured, and Harsha moved to her parents' home, filing for divorce and demanding financial support. Nitin’s family alleged that she and her family were pressuring him for ₹30 lakh as part of a settlement.
According to the suicide note that was discovered, the pressure of paying the amount and the stress caused by the same led to Nitin taking this extreme step. Moreover, his family reported that he had been visibly distressed in recent weeks. Police have sent Nitin’s body for a post-mortem and are investigating the case further.

During the protest, Nitin's relatives and neighbours joined the family in calling for strict action against Harsha and her family. The family demanded a thorough investigation into the matter and insisted on accountability from those named in the note.
