Contract Nursing Students Stage Protest Over Delay In Appointment In Indore
Speaking to the media, the students warned that if their demands were not met soon, they would intensify their agitation

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Frustrated by the long delay in their appointments, the contract nursing students of the 2022–23 batch from the Nursing College affiliated with Mata Gau Smriti Medical College staged a sit-in protest outside the dean’s office of MY Medical College here on Thursday.
A protester Sandhya Patel said that the protest was held to demand the issuance of appointment letters promised to them after successfully completing their BSc Nursing training.
“As per the state government's assurance, the students were to be appointed to the post of staff nurse under the pay scale of Rs5200–20200 with a grade pay of Rs2800. However, even after two years, we have not received any official appointment or a concrete response,” she said.

“We had repeatedly submitted memorandums to the dean, the director of medical education and other officials, but only received verbal assurances each time,” said another student.
Holding placards with slogans like “Give Us Our Rights” and “Nursing Students Waiting for 2 Years”, the students demanded swift action from the authorities.
Speaking to the media, the students warned that if their demands were not met soon, they would intensify their agitation. They urged the government to expedite the appointment process so that they could finally begin their careers.
