Mandsaur (Madhya Pradesh): Collector Aditi Garg issued prohibitory orders on Monday across Mandsaur district's revenue boundaries to enhance public safety and monitor population movement.
The order, under Section 8 of Sarais Act 1867, is due to the city's growing population and potential security risks.
Mandsaur, known for its Shri Pashupatinath Mahadev Temple, attracts numerous devotees and visitors, necessitating stringent monitoring of temporary residents.
Key directives include mandatory registration of tenants, paying guests and visitors, immediate information sharing with local police stations, clear display of manager/operator contact details, maintaining comprehensive visitor registers, installing CCTV cameras capturing visitor faces and one-month video backup preservation.
Specific requirements target various accommodation providers including hotels, lodges, dharamshalas, homestays, rest houses and paying guest accommodations
Operators must submit detailed visitor information in prescribed formats, particularly for stays exceeding two weeks. CCTV installations must ensure clear facial recognition, with digital recordings maintained for 30 days.
The district police have additionally emphasised the importance of tenant information submission in urban areas. These measures aim to prevent potential antisocial activities, protect public property and enhance overall district security.
Collector Aditi emphasised that these extraordinary steps are crucial for public safety, implemented urgently to mitigate potential risks in the rapidly expanding city.
