Video: Bengaluru Youth Stripped, Brutally Beaten For Sending Obscene Messages; Assailants Reference Renukaswamy Murder Case; 8 Arrested

A youth was kidnapped and brutally assaulted by eight to ten men for sending obscene messages to his ex-girlfriend in Bengaluru. According to reports, one of the assailants filmed the beating, and the video has since gone viral on social media. The attackers were allegedly inspired by the Renukaswamy murder case, in which a group of men working for Kannada actor Darshan kidnapped and murdered a man for sending obscene messages to the actor’s long-term partner, Pavithra Gowda.
The footage shows the men thrashing the youth, stripping him, and hitting his genitals.
While assaulting the victim, one of the attackers allegedly threatened him with a fate similar to Renukaswamy’s. The attackers were heard laughing and referencing the murder case.
Police reports state that the victim, Kushal, had been in a relationship with a college student for two years before they broke up a few months ago. The girl moved on and began a new relationship with another man.
Upset by this, Kushal started sending her obscene messages. Seeking revenge, the girl, her new boyfriend, and his friend planned the assault. They lured Kushal under the pretence of resolving the issue.
When he arrived alone, they kidnapped him, took him to a deserted spot, carried out the assault, and filmed it.
So far, police have arrested eight people in connection with the attack.
Renukaswamy Murder Case:
According to police, Renukaswamy, 26-year-old man from Chitradurga was abducted, tortured, and murdered by a gang allegedly linked to Darshan and his associates in June last year for sending derogatory messages to actress Pavithra Gowda, Darshan's long-term partner. His body was found near a drain in Bengaluru. Several arrests were made, including Darshan, Pavithra Gowda, and others, under charges of murder, kidnapping, and conspiracy.
