VIDEO: 12-Yr-Old Boy, Hit By POP Chunk Falling From 5th Floor, Dies After 11-Days Long Battle For Life In Surat

In a tragic incident, a 12-year-old boy succumbed to head injuries last week in a Surat hospital after battling for life for over 10 days. According to reports, the victim, Mantra Ketanbhai Akbari, a Class 6 student, was playing with his friend on the premises of Blue City Apartments near Sarthana in Surat when a piece of plaster of Paris (POP) fell on him.

The incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed on the building premises. In the video, an object falls from above onto Mantra's head, causing him to immediately collapse on the ground.

Reports indicate that Mantra sustained a severe blow from the piece of POP as it fell from the fifth floor of the building.

The boy was immediately rushed to SMIMER Hospital, from where he was referred to a private hospital for further treatment. After battling for life in the hospital for more than 11 days, he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday afternoon.

Mantra's family originally hails from Savarkundla in Amreli district.
