In a tragic incident, a 12-year-old boy succumbed to head injuries last week in a Surat hospital after battling for life for over 10 days. According to reports, the victim, Mantra Ketanbhai Akbari, a Class 6 student, was playing with his friend on the premises of Blue City Apartments near Sarthana in Surat when a piece of plaster of Paris (POP) fell on him.
The incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed on the building premises. In the video, an object falls from above onto Mantra's head, causing him to immediately collapse on the ground.
Reports indicate that Mantra sustained a severe blow from the piece of POP as it fell from the fifth floor of the building.
