Lucknow has achieved the distinction of being the third cleanest city in India, according to recently released Swachh Survekshan 2024 rankings. The city dramatically improved its position by 41 spots from its previous ranking. The Lucknow Municipal Corporation is slated to receive its award in Delhi on July 17.
Ahmedabad secured the number one position, climbing from fifth place last year, while Bhopal took the second spot. Lucknow's leap from 44th to third place is particularly noteworthy. This significant improvement is attributed to the Municipal Commissioner and his team's efforts over the past year, which included enhanced waste management, regular ward cleaning, public participation, awareness campaigns, and digital monitoring.
