Lucknow: The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) deferred release of its election manifest in Uttar Pradesh after the demise of world famous singer Lata Mangeshkar on Sunday.

The party said that due to the demise of Bharat Ratn Lata Mangeshkar it has decided not release poll manifesto for UP. The party had organized a gala ceremony at UP headquarter on Sunday to release the manifesto. While Shah had arrived in Lucknow on Sunday morning, he reached at the party office to pay homage to late singer Lata Mangeshkar.

However, the campaigning tours and public meetings of the leaders of BJP and other political parties continued on Sunday. While UP CM Yogi addressed public meetings in Aligarh on Sunday, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi would attend a poll rally in Bijnore on Monday.
