Tamil Nadu: Pregnant Woman Sexually Assaulted, Beaten And Pushed From Moving Train; Railway Authorities Offer ₹50,000 Compensation

Chennai: A four-month pregnant woman who was sexually assaulted and pushed out of a moving train near Kapadi Railway Station on Thursday night has suffered a miscarriage while undergoing treatment.
The victim had boarded the Coimbatore-Tirupati Intercity Express from Tiruppur and was traveling alone in the women’s coach. A man who boarded the train at Jolarpet sexually assaulted her. In a shocking act of violence, he pushed her off the moving train, leaving her seriously injured.
She was admitted to a hospital, where she lost her unborn child due to the injuries sustained in the attack.
Following the incident, Government Railway Police arrested the accused, identified as Hemanth from K.V. Kuppam.
Meanwhile, Southern Railway announced a financial aid of ₹50,000 for the victim. On Saturday, senior railway officials, including the Additional General Manager and medical officers from Chennai Railway, visited the hospital and handed over the compensation amount.
