Rajasthan To Introduce Bill Regulating Coaching Centers Amid Alarming Student Suicides, Govt Informs High Court
This was informed by the state government in the Rajasthan High Court during the hearing on a Sou Moto petition regarding the student suicides.

Looking at the alarming situation of coaching student suicides in Kota, the Rajasthan government is working to introduce a law to regularize coaching centers in the state. The proposed bill is likely to be introduced in the upcoming Legislative Assembly session.
This was informed by the state government in the Rajasthan High Court during the hearing on a Sou Moto petition regarding the student suicides.
Advocate General Rajendra Prasad informed the court that the state government will enact a law for the regulation of coaching centers, and deliberations are underway on all aspects. Efforts are being made to present the bill in the upcoming assembly session.
Taking the government's reply on record, the division bench of Justice Indrajit Singh and Justice VK Bharwani, orders the next hearing of the case in February 10th.
Notably, the draft of the proposed bill, The Rajasthan Coaching Centre (Control and Regulation) Bill, 2024, has been ready for the last two years and the government had sought feedback on the draft legislation by uploading the draft on the website in July last year.

The proposed legislation has the provisions of regulating coaching institutes by introducing measures such as mandatory mental health counselling, limits on class hours, and stricter age restrictions for enrollment.
Six coaching students have committed subside in Kota in January 2025 itself and the coaching industry of the city is stressed after these incidents as there was already a decline of around 30–40 percent in the student enrollment in the coaching centers of Kota during the last couple of years.
