Rajasthan: Right wing organisations protest against demotion of two Alwar temples
Rajgarh is a BJP-run municipality
Alwar: Days after the demolition of a 300-year-old temple in Rajgarh, Alwar the Hindu organizations and saints took out an 'Akrosh rally' in Alwar on Wednesday. Alwar MP Balak Nath, who was leading the protest march, demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
It's been 5 days now since the videos of the demolition of temples in Rajgarh went viral and the right-wing organization and BJP are attacking the state government and are trying to capitalize on the issue.
On Wednesday Hindu organizations and saints came to the streets in Alwar city and hold a protest march. Groups of saints from different districts of Rajasthan and neighbouring states like Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh reached Alwar to take part in the march.
BJP leaders and workers also took part in the march. The protest march ended at the district collector’s office and protesters gave a memorandum to the collector.
"We hold this march to stop the Rajasthan government from doing the politics of appeasement. We are demanding Strict action against the officials who have demolished the temple and the temple should be rebuilt," said Balaknath adding, "this matter will not be settled as the Gehlot government has razed the deities in the same way as the Mughals had done 250 years ago. The Gehlot government has reminisced the Mughalian rule."
