Agra: In a shocking incident, a massive fire broke out in the coaches of Patalkot Express on Wednesday afternoon. Initial reports claims the fire engulfed at least two coaches of the train near Bhadai Railway Station in Uttar Pradesh's Agra. Visuals available showed raging fire emanating from the bogies of the Patalkot Express that appeared to be completely charred.
There are reports that two passengers have suffered minor burns in the incident. The fire tenders have reached the spot and are trying to douse the fire. However, the fire has not been controlled yet. The cause of fire not known yet.
The Patalkot Express train operates between Firozpur Cantonment in Punjab and Seoni in Madhya Pradesh.
Indian Railways told news agency ANI, "Smoke was reported on the train Patalkot Express between Agra-Dholpur. The smoke was noticed in the GS coach, 4th coach from the engine. The train was immediately stopped and Coach detached. No injuries to any person."
The Patalkot Express train operates between Firozpur Cantonment in Punjab and Seoni in Madhya Pradesh.
A fire erupted in the fourth coach, shortly after departing from Agra station at 3:45 pm, following the engine. The train was brought to a halt, and the affected coach was promptly evacuated. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
The impacted coach has been disconnected from the train.
