Noida, February 17: In a tragic incident, a two-and-a-half-year-old child lost his life after being shot during celebratory firing at a wedding procession in Noida. The child was reportedly shot in the head. The shocking incident occurred when the child was enjoying the dance during the wedding procession with his family from the balcony of his building. A video of the horrific incident has surfaced on the internet and the video is going viral on social media.

Details About The Incident

The incident reportedly occurred in Aghapur village which falls under Sector 49 Police Station area. The video shows that the wedding procession was being taken from a lane, which was being witnessed by the people staying in the locality. The people were enjoying the dance and music from their houses. The groom and few of his friends were seen on the chariot as the wedding procession proceeded with music and people dancing enthusiastically.

Child Shot In The Head

The wedding procession was being enjoyed and filmed by the person holding the child. Suddenly, the friend of the groom standing with him on the chariot, pulled out a gun and fired in the air. The bullet reportedly hit the child's head and pierced through it. The person recording the procession can be seen in the video running inside the house in panic. There are reports that the child died on the spot after being shot during the celebratory firing by one of the groom's friends.

Police Action

The police reached the spot and registered a case in connection with the matter. They initiated an inquiry and are also scanning the viral video. The police also said that the legal proceedings are underway in connection with the matter.

The police replied to the viral video on social media and said, "In this case, during a wedding procession in Aghapur village under Sector 49 police station, a child was shot due to celebratory firing and later succumbed to injuries during treatment. A case has been registered at Sector 49 police station under the relevant sections. The panchnama of the body has been completed, and further legal proceedings are underway. Law and order remain under control."
