Mumbai: Train services on the Harbour line were severely disrupted on Wednesday after a technical glitch in the track circuit between Panvel and Khansadwar stations affected the signalling system. The issue, which surfaced around 2:20 pm, caused delays of up to 20 minutes, leaving thousands of commuters stranded.
Central Railway officials confirmed that engineers were deployed to address the problem, and normalcy of services were restored by approximately 3:57 pm. Despite this, passengers reported that trains on the Panvel-CSMT route remained delayed throughout the evening, causing inconvenience to daily commuters.
The disruption led to overcrowding at stations as frustrated passengers struggled to reach their destinations on time. Many expressed concerns over the recurring technical issues and urged authorities to improve infrastructure to avoid such disruptions in the future.
