Mohali: Former Delhi Chief Minister and National Convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Arvind Kejriwal, has expressed his desire for a Nobel Prize. Speaking at a book launch event in Mohali, Punjab, Kejriwal claimed that despite alleged interference from the Lieutenant Governor during his tenure, his government still managed to deliver significant work.
"Jitne din humare sarkar rahi, humein kaam nahi karne diya. Uske bawajood humne kaam kiya. Governance aur administration ke andar mereko Nobel Prize milna chahiye ki LG ke rehte hue maine kitne saare kaam kar diye Delhi ke andar."
This roughly translates to, "For as long as our government was in power in Delhi, we were not allowed to work, yet we got a lot done. I believe I deserve a Nobel Prize for governance and administration for managing to accomplish so much despite the interference of the LG," Kejriwal said in Punjab's Mohali during a book launch event.
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and many other leaders of Aam Aadmi Party were also present at the event.
Kejriwal Had Previously Expressed Desire for Nobel Prize
This is not the first time that Kejriwal has expressed his wish to receive the Nobel Prize. On earlier occasions, too, he has claimed that he deserves the honour.
