IRCTC Launches 'Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Yatra' Tourist Train Covering Covering Key Buddhist Heritage Sites; Check Details
This unique journey will cover prominent locations associated with the life and legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, along with key Buddhist heritage sites, offering passengers a culturally enriching experience.

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) West Zone has announced a special tourist package, “Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Yatra,” as part of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative. This unique journey will cover prominent locations associated with the life and legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, along with key Buddhist heritage sites, offering passengers a culturally enriching experience.
"The eight-night, nine-day tour will commence on April 29, 2025, and conclude on May 6, 2025. The Bharat Gaurav Special Tourist Train will depart from Nagpur, with boarding and deboarding stations at Wardha, Pulgaon, Badnera, Akola, Jalgaon, Nashik, and Kalyan" said an official.
According to IRCTC, the tour includes visits to key landmarks such as Dapodi Vihar, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Museum in Pune, Rajgriha in Dadar, Chaitya Bhoomi, Siddharth College in Mumbai, and Dr. Ambedkar’s birthplace in Mhow. Additionally, travelers will explore significant sites in Delhi and Nagpur, including the Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial, India Gate, The Lotus Temple, Qutub Minar, Dikshabhoomi, and Nagaloka.
"The train consists of 14 state-of-the-art coaches, including 7 Sleeper, 3 AC-3 Tier, 1 AC-2 Tier, a pantry car, and power cars, accommodating 662 passengers. It is equipped with modern amenities such as a pantry, CCTV surveillance, a passenger announcement system, and comprehensive insurance coverage" said an official of IRCTC.
"The package includes onboard and offboard vegetarian meals, AC and non-AC hotel stays, bus transportation, travel insurance, and onboard security. The tour cost per person is Rs 14,990 for Sleeper Class, Rs 28,420 for AC-3 Tier, and Rs 35,230 for AC-2 Tier" said an official
