Haryana: Communal Tension Grips Samalkha Town After 'Tiranga Yatra' As Saffron Flag-Waving Groups Barge Into Mosque
A video of the incident shows a group of men waving saffron flags and the tricolour in front of the main gate of the mosque in Sarai Mohalla, Samalkha.
Chandigarh: Communal tension has gripped Samalkha town of Haryana’s Panipat district, after a mob, reportedly participants of a 'Tiranga Yatra' and having allegiance to right wing groups, tried to barge into a mosque and hoist Tricolour there on Tuesday.
The police on Wednesday said that a case had been registered under Section 295A of IPC against unknown persons for disturbing communal harmony and that CCTV footage was being examined.
The mosque management officials complained to the police that a mob having allegiance with the right wing outfits who were part of a Tiranga Yatra had stopped in front of the mosque at Sarai Mohalla on Tuesday and some of them had tried to force their entry into the shrine though had to disperse after the arrival of the police.

However, some other complainants held that several people carrying saffron flags had forced their entry into the mosque and made provocative remarks.
Meanwhile, the videos which had gone viral on social media showed a group of youths carrying the Tricolour stopping their motorcycle procession and raising slogans.
It may be recalled that it is the second such incident since the killing of one Abhishek during Nuh violence when miscreants allegedly belonging to Hindu outfits had attacked shops and properties of minority communities on August 2, last. The victim Abhishek had gone to join the Brij Mandal Yatra of Vishva Hindu Parishad in Nuh on July 31 and was killed in the clashes.
The police had arrested eight persons and booked about 25 others for the August 2 incident.
