Bhavnagar: A video of a windmill collapsing in the Malnath Dungar area near Bhandaria in Bhavnagar district of Gujarat is making the rounds on social media.
The footage shows one of the windmills in the series slowly tilting before collapsing to the ground. Voices in Gujarati can be heard saying, “Come back.”
There are claims circulating on social media about the windmill’s collapse, here is the truth.
Reality Of Viral Video
According to a report by Divya Bhaskar, the windmill did not collapse but was deliberately demolished after reaching the end of its operational lifespan. An employee of the agency responsible for the demolition has also appealed to the public not to spread any rumours about the incident on social media.
The Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) is responsible for the maintenance of these windmills. A windmill has a life span of 20 years; it has to be disclosed after the completion of 20 years.

Windmills have many uses and benefits. They are primarily used for power generation in large-scale wind farms, but they are also employed to pump water for agricultural and domestic purposes.
