Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal reiterated the party's stand on the possibility of an alliance with the Congress Party for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Kejriwal stated that the Aam Aadmi Party would fight this election on its own strength in Delhi.
The former Delhi chief minister further unequivocally stated that there is no possibility of any alliance with Congress.
Kejriwal's clarification comes after news agency ANI, citing sources, reported, "Congress and AAP are in the final stages of an agreement for an alliance in the Delhi elections: 15 seats for Congress, 1-2 for other INDIA Alliance members, and the rest for AAP."
Shortly after ANI's post surfaced, Kejriwal responded and dismissed the speculation surrounding a possible alliance with the grand old party.
Notably, on December 1, Arvind Kejriwal, during a press conference, had ruled out the possibility of any political tie-up in the capital for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, stating, "There will be no alliance in Delhi."
In Delhi, AAP, leaving its potential allies and rivals behind, has already announced 31 candidates for the Delhi Assembly elections.
In the 2020 elections, the AAP secured 62 seats, while the BJP won 8, and the Congress Party failed to secure any seats.
