Congress Demands Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s Resignation Over SFIO Case Against His Daughter
The Congress has decided to pay back the CPM in the same coin as the Left party had launched a vicious campaign against former CM Oommen Chandy when his name figured in the Solar Scam.

Thiruvananthapuram: The opposition Congress party Friday demanded the immediate resignation of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan after the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) decided to file a chargesheet against his daughter Veena Vijayan for fraudulently accepting ₹2.72 crore from CMRL, a public limited company.
Addressing the media, opposition leader VD Satheesan said that the CM should immediately resign failing which his party would launch a statewide agitation.

Meanwhile, there is a split in the CPM over how to handle the Veena Vijayan case. National CPM convenor Prakash Karat Friday said the party will fight the case legally and politically.
However, politburo member and senior CPM leader from Bengal Mohammed Salim disagreed saying that Veena and her company should defend themselves and not the party.
