Chhattisgarh: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar Urges Youth To Prioritize National Interest At Guru Ghasidas University In Bilaspur

Raipur: Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar addressed the 11th convocation of Guru Ghasidas Central University in Bilaspur on Wednesday, and emphasized the role of youth as ambassadors of progress and development in new India. He urged graduates to prioritize national interest over personal ambitions and highlighted the vast opportunities available to them in the current landscape.

In his speech, the Vice President paid tribute to Baba Guru Ghasidas, and he also advocated for unity and equality in society. He encouraged students to embrace skills and innovation while adapting to technological changes, emphasizing the importance of learning from failures rather than fearing them.

Dhankhar also spoke about Chhattisgarh’s mineral wealth and the potential for prosperity, urging the development of strategies that promote collective growth. He noted the state's progress in combating Naxalism and emphasized that development initiatives are focused on marginalized and weaker sections of society. He commended the Chhattisgarh government for its people-friendly policies that aim to enhance overall development.

Governor Shri Ramen Deka praised Guru Ghasidas University for its commitment to education and knowledge, acknowledging the dedication and hard work of medal recipients. He urged students to respect diversity and uphold the country's rich cultural heritage.

Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai highlighted India's historical stature as Vishwa Guru, attributing it to renowned institutions like Nalanda and Takshila. He stressed the significant role of Chhattisgarh's youth in the reconstruction of both the state and the nation.

The CM also mentioned that the university, named after Baba Guru Ghasidas, symbolizes knowledge and inclusivity, and has made notable contributions to the intellectual progress of Chhattisgarh, gaining recognition both nationally and internationally.

Moreover, during the convocation ceremony, 85 medals, including the University Gold Medal, Donor Medals, and the Chancellor Medal, were awarded to 78 students from the 2022-23 session and 77 students who topped the merit list for the 2023-24 session. Additionally, 122 researchers received PhD degrees for their work during the same sessions.
