Chhattisgarh: PM Modi Given Bilasa Devi Kewat Memorial Memento
The tribute, crafted in honour of Bilasa Devi Kewat, a legendary warrior of Chhattisgarh, symbolizes women’s power, self-reliance, and leadership.

At the inauguration and foundation-laying ceremony and various development projects in village Mohabhatta, Bilaspur district, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai presented a special memento to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The tribute, crafted in honour of Bilasa Devi Kewat, a legendary warrior of Chhattisgarh, symbolizes women’s power, self-reliance, and leadership.
Bilasa Devi was a courageous, hardworking, and visionary woman, after whom Bilaspur, one of Chhattisgarh’s major cities, is named. She belonged to the Kewat community, historically known for its role in water transport, service, and honesty. The Kewat community's role in Lord Shri Ram's journey remains an enduring example of devotion and duty in Indian tradition.
