CBI Arrests MES Official For Demanding & Accepting ₹50,000 Bribe In Darbhanga
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested the accused Assistant Garrison Engineer (Civil) of MES, Air Force Station, Darbhanga, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000/-from the complainant as part of the total demanded bribe of Rs 2 lakh.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested the accused Assistant Garrison Engineer (Civil) of MES, Air Force Station, Darbhanga, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000/-from the complainant as part of the total demanded bribe of Rs 2 lakh.
About The Case
A case was registered by CBI on 03/05/2025 against the said accused on allegations that the accused demanded undue advantage from the complainant for processing and for the pending amount against the MES road work. The complainant, a Contractor with MES, having a Delhi-based company, was engaged in the construction of road of MES.

It was further alleged that in the month of January 2025, he had constructed a road in Darbhanga for which he had received payment of Rs. 29,93,774/- in February 2025. Accused, allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from the complainant for the remaining amount of Rs 4 lakh approx. as well as for having processed the aforesaid amount of Rs 29,93,774/-.
CBI laid a trap and caught the accused for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000/-as part of the total demanded bribe of Rs. 2 lakh from the complainant.
Searches were conducted by CBI at residential and official premises of the accused, which led to the recovery of Rs 8 lakh cash, Rs. 63 lakh (approx) found in various accounts in the name of the accused, two property papers and one Hyundai Car of Venue make.
Investigation is continuing.
