Bengaluru Shocker: Woman's Skeleton Found At Home Nearly A Year After Her Death

The skeletal remains of a 52-year-old woman were found inside a duplex house in Bengaluru’s Bagalagunte area, nearly a year after police suspect she died, raising disturbing questions about how her death remained unnoticed for such a long period.

The woman has been identified as Dakshayini. Her remains were found at a house in Havanur Layout, where she had reportedly been living alone. Bagalagunte police have inspected the property and launched an investigation to establish the exact cause and circumstances of her death.

Lived Alone After Losing Husband, Son

According to preliminary reports, Dakshayini had reportedly been battling depression following the deaths of her husband and son. Her husband, Umesh, died around 10 years ago, while her son later died of cancer.

Police suspect Dakshayini may have died nearly a year ago. During this period, her daughter and son-in-law had reportedly not visited the house, leaving her death undiscovered until the remains were eventually found.

Police Probe Underway

The circumstances surrounding how the remains were discovered and what led authorities to check the house are yet to emerge in full. Police are now examining the property and other available information to determine when and how Dakshayini died.

No foul play has been confirmed so far, and the investigation is ongoing.

The case has also brought renewed attention to the vulnerability of people living in isolation and the possibility of deaths going unnoticed when there are no regular family or neighbourhood checks.
