Former Delhi chief minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, who failed to retain his three-time bastion, the New Delhi seat, in the recently concluded Delhi Assembly election, is set to enter the Upper House of the Parliament from Punjab.
According to Hindi news channel TV9 Bharatvarsh's report that cited sources, AAP Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, Sanjeev Arora will vacate his seat for Kejriwal.
It is being speculated that the party may field Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora for the upcoming Ludhiana West Assembly bypoll.
According to The Tribune report, the decision to send Kejriwal into the Rajya Sabha will be taken only after Arora secures victory in the bypoll.
If everything goes well, Kejriwal will face no challenge for his election to Rajya Sabha as AAP enjoys a comfortable majority in the state Assembly with 93 out of 117 members belonging to AAP.
