Yuzvendra Chahal-Dhanashree Verma Divorce: Report Claims Couple Cited THIS Reason In Court For Parting Ways

Team India cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and actress-choreographer Dhanashree Verma are now officially divorced, as per reports. The two tied the knot in 2020 during the lockdown, but their marriage was shortlived, and they finally parted ways on February 20, Thursday.

According to an ABP report, Chahal and Dhanashree had been staying separately for 18 months before they were officially granted divorce. The final hearing took place at the Bandra family court on Thursday at 11 am and it ended at 4:30 pm with the judge declaring that they were no longer legally bound as husband and wife.

During the hearing, Dhanashree and Chahal stated that they decided to seek divorce with "mutual consent". When asked about the reason behind parting ways, the duo cited "compatibility issues" as the primary cause of concern.

Dhanashree and Chahal are yet to issue an official statement about their divorce.

Hours before the divorce hearing, Dhanashree grabbed eyeballs after she posted a cryptic note on her Instagram handle which was titled, "From stressed to blessed". Chahal too shared a note about God protecting him multiple times.

Reports of Dhanashree and Chahal heading for a divorce came up around the end of 2024, and while the two never addressed it, the former broke her silence on the trolling and hatred coming her way in January. She took to her Instagram handle and wrote, "The past few days have been incredibly tough for my family and me. What's truly upsetting is the baseless writing, devoid of fact checking, and the character assassination of my reputation by faceless trolls spreading hate (sic)."

She went on to say, "I've worked hard for years to build my name and integrity. My silence is not a sign of weakness; but of strength. While negativity spreads easily online, it takes courage and compassion to uplift others."

"I choose to focus on my truth and move forward, holding onto my values. The truth stands tall without the need for justification. Om Namah Shivaay," she concluded.

Later, reports went viral that Chahal was dating RJ Mahvash, however, the latter vehemently denied the claims.

Dhanashree and Chahal tied the knot in December 2020 in an intimate ceremony after a brief relationship.
