'When I Saw Her As Sita...': Ranbir Kapoor Praises Sai Pallavi, Says 'Couldn't Have Cast Someone Better Than Her' For Ramayana
Ranbir Kapoor said Sai Pallavi was the perfect choice for Sita in Ramayana, adding, "I just looked at Nitesh (Tiwari) sir and we both knew," while praising her talent at the film’s promotional event.

Actor Ranbir Kapoor, last seen in the 2023 film Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is all set to star next in Ramayana, helmed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra. The film, which is among the most-anticipated movies of 2026, features Ranbir as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita.

Following an exciting event offering the first glimpse of Ramayana in Los Angeles, Ranbir, along with Nitesh and Malhotra, headed to New York City for a second screening, where he spoke about Sai's casting and praised her performance.
Speaking at the Los Angeles event, Ranbir said, "We all know Sai is such a brilliant actor. You know, she's accomplished so much. The first day, I remember, when I saw her as Sita, I just looked at Nitesh sir, and we both just knew that we couldn't have cast someone better than her."

Further, talking about Yash, Ranbir added, "Yash, of course, he has the stardom that he has. To play Ravana, you need somebody who has that aura and screen presence."

Reports state that the Rs 4,000-crore budget of the two Ramayana films makes them among the most expensive Indian movies ever produced and also places the project among the costliest film ventures globally.

Ramayana Part One is slated to release in theaters in October 2026, with the second part arriving in 2027, and stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman.
