Plot

Viduthalai is a two-part franchise based on Jeyamohan's short story Thunaivan. Set in 1987 in a fictional town, the story follows a newly recruited constable named Kumaresan. The plot takes a dramatic turn when Kumaresan learns about Perumal, the leader of Makkal Padai, and decides to arrest him. As the situation escalates, he finds himself torn between his duty and his morals when his department launches a brutal campaign to apprehend a local activist in the village. What choices will Kumaresan make in this conflict?

It is produced by Elred Kumar under RS Infotainment and Grass Root Film Company. According to the reports, Viduthalai Part 2 is expected to stream on ZEE5 in January 2025. The film is directed and written by Vetrimaaran.
