Television actress Tunisha Sharma died by suicide on December 24, 2022, on the sets of her show 'Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul'. While the investigation in her case is currently underway, makers of the show have already begun their hunt for a new lead.

Recently, reports went viral that actress Avneet Kaur has been roped in to play the role of Tunisha's 'Mariam' on the show. While Avneet remained tightlipped when she was inquired about the development, her mother has now finally broken her silence.

Avneet Kaur to replace Tunisha?

Speaking to Times of India, Avneet's mother has clarified that the young actress would not be playing the role of Mariam on the show 'Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul'.

"Avneet will not be playing any role in Alibaba, she is not part of the show. These rumours are not true," she told the portal.

Not just that, but rumours were rife that Abhishek Nigam will be replacing Sheezan Khan on the show, but his mother has refuted that report as well.

'Show won't go off-air': Makers

Over the last few days, rumours have been rife about the show going off-air. Clearing the air, a channel official told ETimes that the show will continue by focusing on other characters and different tracks.

The official also revealed that Tunisha will not be replaced and a new lead pair of characters will be introduced on the show.

Tunisha Sharma's suicide

Tunisha Sharma was found dead on the sets of the show on December 24. She hung herself in the makeup room on the sets of 'Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul'.

Tunisha was reportedly depressed for several days prior to her death because of her break up with Sheezan. The two allegedly broke up just 15 days before the actress claimed her life.

Sheezan is currently in police custody as Tunisha's mother filed an abetment to suicide complaint against him.
