Sunjay Kapur Funeral: 14-Year-Old Son Kiaan Breaks Down, Karisma Kapoor Consoles Him; Heartbreaking Visuals Surface

At businessman Sunjay Kapur's funeral in Delhi on Thursday (June 19), his son Kiaan broke down while bidding a final farewell to his father. A video from the funeral, now circulating on social media, shows Kiaan in tears as he is comforted by his mother, actress Karisma Kapoor, and aunt Kareena Kapoor Khan.

14-year-old Kiaan, along with his sister Samaira and mother Karisma, was present at the cremation ceremony held at Lodhi Road Cremation Ground. Dressed in a simple white suit, Karisma was seen offering floral tributes to her late ex-husband.

The children stood by her side in a visibly emotional state as they paid their respects. In the viral visuals shared by Instant Bollywood on Instagram, Karisma and Kareena can be seen consoling Kiaan, who appeared heartbroken during the rites. Several pictures and videos have been doing the rounds on social media platforms.

Kareena and Saif Ali Khan also attended the funeral. The visuals have touched fans across social media, with many sending strength and support to the grieving family.

Sunjay Kapur's demise

Sunjay Kapur passed away on June 12 after reportedly suffering a heart attack while playing polo in the UK. According to ANI, Sunjay was playing polo and riding a horse when he accidentally swallowed a bee. The insect got stuck in his throat, causing severe irritation.

The sudden discomfort reportedly triggered a state of panic, which led to a heart attack. Unfortunately, he could not be revived.

A prayer meeting in Sunjay's memory is scheduled for June 22 from 4 PM to 5 PM at the Taj Palace Hotel in Delhi. The note for the meeting, which has surfaced online, is signed by his mother Rani Surinder Kapur, wife Priya, their children Safira and Azarias, and his children with Karisma—Samaira and Kiaan.

Karisma and Sunjay were married in 2003 and divorced in 2016. The actress had accused Sunjay of domestic abuse and emotional trauma, while the businessman claimed she married him for financial reasons. The settlement awarded Karisma full custody of the children, a house in Mumbai, and financial support.

Sunjay married model and entrepreneur Priya Sachdev in 2017, and the couple welcomed a son in 2018.
