Sitaare Zameen Par stars Aamir Khan in the lead role, wherein he plays a basketball coach for a team of specially-abled individuals. It also stars Genelia D'Souza in a key role.

Given the positive reviews that the film has opened with, Sitaare Zameen Par is expected to earn anywhere between Rs 9 crore to Rs 10 crore on its first day.
