Punjabi rapper-singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popularly known as Sidhu Moosewala, was shot dead through the windscreen of his car on May 29, 2022, in Jawaharke village of Mansa, Punjab, at the age of 28. Gangster Goldy Brar had publicly claimed responsibility for the killing. Three years after his tragic death, his new track Barota was released on Friday, November 28, along with a powerful music video featuring Punjabi actress Sweetaj Brar.

Within just a day of its release, the song climbed to #1 on YouTube's music trending chart. Moosewala's voice in the track has once again moved fans emotionally. The late singer also penned the lyrics and composed the music for Barota.

Soon after the track was released, fans were moved by his vocals, lyrics, and composition. A user commented, "A champion is one who is remembered A legend is one who is never forgotten." Another wrote, "Kya hi song hai aur video jabardast."

Sidhu Moosewala's Signed To God World Tour Announced
In July 2025, his official Instagram handle announced the Signed to God World Tour for 2026. However, as of now, there is no information about how the tour will take place or who will perform, let alone any details regarding dates and venues.
Goldy Brar Reveals Real Reason Behind Sidhu Moosewala's Murder
A few months ago, gangster Goldy Brar, who had publicly claimed responsibility for the killing. revealed the real reason behind Sidhu’s murder. The BBC World Service released a two-part documentary titled The Killing Call on YouTube, which shed light on his murder. In the documentary
Brar accused Sidhu of backing rivals and using political clout against their gang. "When decency falls on deaf ears, it's the gunshot that gets heard,” Brar said, claiming the killing was revenge for their close friend, Youth Akali Dal leader Vicky Middukhera's death.
The documentary also shared that in Sidhu's final days, he was troubled by the threats and felt trapped, unable to move forward or go back. He had stopped responding to phone calls from gangsters.
However, by then, rumours had already spread that Sidhu supported the Bambiha gang and gangsters lived at his residence. As a result, he was ultimately murdered.
