Veteran Tollywood actor Kaikala Satyanarayana passed away on Friday leaving the entire south film industry in a state of shock.
Satyanarayana breathed his last in the wee hours of Friday at his home in Hyderabad's Film Nagar. He was 87 at the time of his demise.
Reportedly, Satyanarayana was suffering from age-related ailments for the past few days, which resulted into his demise.
His last rites is expected to be performed on Saturday.
Tollywood stars pay tribute
As soon as news about Satyanarayana's demise broke, several Tollywood celebs took to their social media handles to extend their heartfelt condolences.
"Deeply saddened to hear the demise of Kaikala Satyanarayana Garu.. His contribution to our film industry will be remembered forever !! May his soul rest in peace," Ram Charan tweeted.
Sharing pictures of himself with Satyanarayana, megastar Chiranjeevi wrote, "Rest in peace. Navarasa Natana Sarvabhouma. Sri Kaikala Satyanarayana garu".
"Om Shanti Kaikala Satyanarayana garu. My thoughts and prayers with the family," Sharwanand wrote.
Ravi Teja tweeted, "Grief-stricken by the demise of the legendary actor Kaikala Satyanarayana garu. He is One of the finest actors Indian cinema has ever seen. My sincere condolences to his family & dear ones. Om Shanti."
About Kaikala Satyanarayana
Born on July 25, 1935 in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, Satyanarayana debuted with Telugu movie 'Sipai Koothuru' in 1959. In a career spanning over six decades, he has acted in around 800 movies. Along with playing the quintessential bad man in films, he is also known for playing mythological characters like Lord Yama.
He last appeared in 2019 Mahesh Babu starrer 'Maharshi'.
