Thalapathy Vijay and wife Sangeetha heading for divorce after 22 years of marriage?

South superstar Thalapathy Vijay and his wife Sangeetha are reportedly headed for a divorce. The couple has been married for over 22 years. According to several media reports, rumours of their divorce began after Vijay's Wikipedia page stated that he and Sangeetha have mutually decided to get a divorce.

Sangeetha not attending Varisu music launch and the baby shower of Atlee and Priya have added fuel to the rumours.

However, according to a report in Pinkvilla, the rumours of Vijay and Sangeetha's divorce are 'baseless'. Reportedly, she is holidaying with her kids in the US and that's the reason she couldn't attend any events. Vijay is also expected to join his family soon. However, nothing is officially confirmed.

Vijay and Sangeetha's married life

Vijay married Sangeetha Sornalingam, who is reportedly a Sri Lankan Tamil. They met in the United Kingdom in 1996. They tied the knot in Hindu and Christian traditions on August 25, 1999.

They have two children - son Jason and daughter Divya. Vijay's son made a cameo appearance with his father in Vettaikaaran (2009) and his daughter portrayed a small role as her father's pre-teen daughter in Theri (2016).

The trailer of Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna's family drama Varisu was officially launched by the makers on Wednesday. The actor is currently busy with the promotions and release of the film.
