'Ranbir Kapoor Looks Beautiful': Vindu Dara Singh Says Ramayana Looks Better Than Adipurush, Recalls Knowing Prabhas' Film Would 'Flop'

Dara Singh has left behind a legacy through his portrayal of Hanuman in Ramayan. Years later, his son Vindu Dara Singh played a similar role in TV shows and live performances, continuing the legacy in his own way. After watching the teaser of Ramayana, which was unveiled on Thursday, April 2, and showed a first glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Vindu reacted to it, stating that it looks better than Adipurush, Prabhas’ 2023 flop that had sparked major controversy earlier.

Vindu Dara Singh Recalls Knowing Adipurush Would Flop

Speaking to DNA, Vindu Dara Singh said that Ramanand Sagar and B. R. Chopra set an unmatchable benchmark with their TV series Ramayan and Mahabharat. "Hum Ramayan aur Mahabharat ke 20 version sunege, dekhenge, but ultimately the best one would be of Sagar saab and Chopra saab."

He recalled that he knew Adipurush would be a flop after watching the trailer. "Woh toh pata nahi kya tha. Main trailer dekh ke samaj gaya tha ki yeh flop hogi. Kya hi chal raha tha. You can't deviate so much and have Hanuman ji saying all these dialogues," said the actor.

Vindu Dara Singh Praises Ranbir Kapoor

Praising Ranbir , Vindu Dara Singh said that he looked 'so beautiful, so lovely as Ram.' He added that when one closes their eyes, Arun Govil is still remembered as Lord Rama and Dara Singh as Hanuman. However, he noted that they can no longer play the same roles, as Dara Singh is no more and Arun Govil has also aged. He added that he is aware that Arun is playing Dasharatha in Ramayana and is a perfect fit for the role.

Vindu continued praising Ranbir and said that his acting will be very classy, adding that if he has followed what Arun Govil did, then the film could become an unforgettable success.

Vindu Dara Singh Warns Ramayana Makers

Further talking about Rama's first glimpse in Ramayana, Vindu said that he looked spectacular and very beautiful. He added that there is a strict rule that what Ramanand Sagar created with Ramayan is deeply embedded in people's hearts and minds, calling it historic. He added that if the film matches that standard, Ramayana would be a superhit and a record-breaking success.

He further warned the makers that if the new Ramayana is made with too much liberty, people might reject it. "Kuch bhi deviation agar ki, jaise is mein woh khatarnaak (asur) se dikh rahe hai, toh agar zyada upar-neeche kiya, toh people will not accept it."
