Rajinikanth's Coolie Recovers 66% Per Cent Budget Before Film's Release, Has Earned ₹250 Crore Already
Rajinikanth's film, Coolie, is set to release in theatres on August 14. And even before its release, the film has earned Rs 250 crore from the sale of its international, digital, music, and satellite rights, with its total budget being Rs 375 crore. Coolie has also minted Rs 30 crore at the global box office with advance bookings overseas.

The excitement and anticipation is running high for superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming film, Coolie, which is slated to hit the silver screens on August 14. And as per reports, the film has already recovered more than 66 per cent of its budget even before it releases in theatres.
Coolie is made on a budget of Rs 375 crore, and according to a report in Pinkvilla, the makers have already earned Rs 250 crore from the sale of its international, digital, music, and satellite rights.
The film's international rights have been reportedly sold for a whopping Rs 68 crore. Not just that, but Coolie also seems to have already minted Rs 30 crore at the global box office with advance bookings overseas.
Coolie is now poised to register the biggest-ever opening for a Tamil film in the international market after Thalapathy Vijay's Leo, which had earned Rs 66 crore on its first day at the overseas box office.
Extra shows for Coolie
In India, particularly down South, the craze for Coolie's release is unprecedented. Shows as early as 6 am have been announced in Kerala and Karnataka, while in Tamil Nadu, the first show has been scheduled for 9 am, due to the state government's rule.
In Thrissur, Kerala, fans were seen running through the gate of a theatre and pushing each other, all in a bid to get their hands on the best seats as advanced bookings opened on Friday.
Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is a quintessential Rajini-style massy entertainer, and to take it a notch higher, it also stars Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir and Shruti Haasan in key roles.
