Poet Yahya Bootwala, Who Accused Kesari 2 Writer Of Plagiarism, Says 'Issue With Makers Has Been Resolved Amicably'
Yahya Bootwala had alleged that dialogues delivered by Ananya Panday in Kesari 2 had been lifted from one of his poems, which he had uploaded on YouTube back in 2020. To support his claim, he also shared a video that featured him performing the original poem alongside a clip of Ananya delivering seemingly identical lines

Poet Yahya Bootwala, who recently accused Kesari Chapter 2 makers, especially the film's writer Sumit Saxena of plagiarism, announced that the matter has been amicably resolved. On Monday (April 28), Yahya took to his official Instagram account and shared an update with his followers. Kesari 2 hit the big screens on April 18 and it stars Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday and R Madhavan in the lead roles.
"So dosto, the producers and I have managed to amicably solve this issue in the best interest of both parties. Thank you guys for your support in these 2 days, you guys have been very kind," Yahya wrote.
Take a look at his post here:
A couple of days ago, Yahya had alleged that dialogues delivered by actress Ananya Panday in the film had been lifted from one of his poems, which he had uploaded on YouTube back in 2020. To support his claim, he also shared a video that featured him performing the original poem alongside a clip of Ananya delivering seemingly identical lines.
The poet also tagged producer Karan Johar, actor Akshay Kumar, and the film's makers, urging them to take action and address the situation.
In his post, Yahya had criticised Sumit directly, writing, "As writers, the worst thing you can do to a fellow writer is pick their material up, blatantly use it without giving credits and this is what I feel dialogue writer @sumit.saxena.35912 has done here."

In his Instagram story, he tagged the Instagram account of Sumit and wrote, "I'm sure you know this, the worse you can do as a writer is steal some other writer's work without crediting them for it."
Yahya, however, deleted the post from his Instagram account.
However, neither the makers of Kesari 2 nor Sumit have released any official statement or clarification in response to the allegations.
Meanwhile, Kesari 2 received rave reviews from critics and the audience. Directed by Karan S Tyagi, the film shows the lesser-known story of what happened after the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
The film stars Akshay as advocate C Sankaran Nair, who had sued the British government and had accused the Crown of 'genocide' post the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. On the other hand, Ananya is seen as lawyer Dilreet Gill.
