On Monday, we got the sad news that popular Haryanvi singer Pepsi Sharma, known for singing folk songs, passed away at the age of 38. According to reports, he died due to a heart attack.

Reportedly, he experienced chest pain at his home and was rushed to a nearby hospital. He breathed his last during treatment at the hospital.

Who Was Pepsi Sharma?

Sharma's real name was Yashpal, but he used Pepsi Sharma as his stage name. He was not just a singer, but he was also a comedian, composer, and live stage performer.

He was famous for his high-energy live performances in traditional Ragni singing competitions across Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and neighbouring regions. Sharma was from Patla village, located in the Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh.

Apart from stage performances, he had also left a mark on television with shows like Star Plus' Yeh Dil Hai Hindustani and more.

While he had sung and composed many tracks, a few of his famous songs are Sawan Ki Bund, Bhole Ke Diwane, and Tere Jeeja Se Main Tang Aali.

Netizens Mourn Pepsi Sharma's Death

A netizen tweeted, "Popular Haryanvi Ragini singer Pepsi Sharma bro no more. Om Shanti (sic)." Another X user wrote, "Sad News: Haryanvi artist Pepsi Sharma has passed away. He took his last breath after experiencing chest pain. In the Ragni world of UP and Haryana, he was recognized as a powerful artist. Heartfelt tribute (sic)."

One more netizen tweeted, "Sad: Popular artist in the Haryanvi folk art world, Pepsi Sharma, has passed away. It is reported that he passed away after complaining of chest pain. Pepsi Sharma was a resident of Patla village in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh. May God grant peace to the departed soul! (sic)."
