Rapper Badshah’s latest Haryanavi folk track, "Tateeree", has sparked legal action. An FIR has been filed against the rapper at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Sector 20, Panchkula. Abhay Chaudhary, a resident of Chandimandir, lodges the complaint. The complaint says that the song allegedly has obscene lyrics and visuals in it.

According to the complaint, the song and its video, released on Badshah’s official YouTube channel, contain offensive language, gestures, and visuals showing girls in school uniforms. The complainant claims that these things (girls in school like setting) are highly objectionable and send a negative message to society.

The FIR states that the content promotes obscenity and undermines the dignity of women. Taking hold of the matter, the police have registered the case under Section 296 of the IPC and Sections 3 and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986. Investigation into the matter is currently underway.

Two separate complaints were earlier filed by Savita Arya from Panipat and lawyer Rajnarayan Panghal from Rohtak. Savita approached the Haryana Women’s Commission, while Panghal filed a complaint with the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights. Both raised objections to the line, "Aaya Badshah doli chadhaane, in sabki ghodi banaane," in the Tateeree song.

Badshah's song was released on March 1, 2026. So far, it has crossed 4.4 Million views on singer's official YouTube channel.
