Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty recently recalled the most difficult phase of his career and shared that there were times when he thought of committing suicide.

In a new interview with ETimes, Mithun said that at times, he would think he wouldn't be able to achieve his goals. He also revealed during that period, going back to Kolkata, his birthplace, wasn't an option.

"Everyone goes through struggles, but mine was so much. Sometimes I used to think I won't be able to achieve my goals, I even thought of committing suicide. I couldn't even return to Kolkata due to some reasons. But my advice is never to think of ending your life without fighting. I am a born fighter and I didn't know how to lose. And, see where I am now," he said.

Mithun has been a Bollywood heartthrob and India's 'Disco Dancer' for years. If this wasn't enough, the actor also ventured into politics and he is a former Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament.

Meanwhile, on the work front, the 72-year-old actor is all set to return to Bengali cinema. He was last seen with Anupam Kher and Darshan Kumaar in 'The Kashmir Files', written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri.

He will also be seen in a film with Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff.
