Bollywood actor Aamir Khan's team has issued an official statement addressing a viral poster that falsely depicted the actor as Guru Nanak. On Monday, the poster went viral on social media platforms, however, Aamir's spokesperson revealed that it is 'fake'.
Setting the record straight, the spokesperson said, "The poster showing Aamir Khan as Guru Nanak is completely fake and AI-generated. Aamir Khan has no connection to any such project. He holds the highest respect for Guru Nanak and would never be part of anything disrespectful. Please don't fall for fake news."
The clarification comes after screenshots and edited images began doing the rounds, misleading many into believing that Aamir was involved in a film or project related to Guru Nanak.
In fact, an Instagram page shared a video and claimed that it is the teaser of the film. They also stated in the caption that the film will also star actress Kareena Kapoor Khan.
The actor, known for being extremely selective about his work and mindful of cultural sensitivities, swiftly responded through his team to prevent the spread of misinformation.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Aamir, who was last seen on the big screens in the 2022 release Laal Singh Chadha, is gearing up for the release of his next movie which is titled Sitaare Zameen Par. There were reports that the film might release in June or December this year, but now, according to a report in Pinkvilla, Sitaare Zameen Par will release on June 20, 2025.
On the other hand, Aamir recently made headlines for opening up about about making Mahabharat. In an interview, he talked about the project and called it one of his 'biggest ambitions'.
The actor revealed that work on Mahabharat will hopefully start this year and that it will be made into multiple films. He also revealed that more than one director will helm the project.
