Watch: Students Hold Umbrellas In Classroom As Roof Leaks In Bihar School

Bihar: The state of government schools in Bihar is pathetic where students have to sit holding umbrellas in their classrooms even as the roof leaks following heavy downpour during the monsoon season. A video shared by X-user Amit Malviya has brought this shameful state of affairs in schools.

The video, shared by Malviya, in-charge of BJP's National Information & Technology Deparment. Co-incharge West Bengal, students can be seen holding umbrellas in the class room shielding them from the leaking roof while the teacher continues to write notes on the board. Malviya's tweeted: "On one hand the Education Minister of Bihar is discussing Ram Charit Manas and Chief Minister Nitish Babu is dreaming of becoming the Prime Minister, on the other hand, the education system in Bihar has completely collapsed!"

Responding to this video in a large numbers, netizens including State coordinator of INC, Advocate Anuj Shukla, have urged the government to take note of this situation and take urgent action to rectify the shortcomings in Bihar's education infrastructure.

Anuj's comment reads: "This is the limit of shamelessness when there was a share of power together for the last 20 years, then it was not visible, within 6 months the whole roof started leaking.."

The video brings forth the issue of severe lack in quality educational infrastructure in Bihar.

According to news reports, though enrolment in government schools shows an increase, the attendance is worrisome.

According to a NITI Aayog report Bihar is ranked at the bottom where delivering quality education to students is concerned.
