Ahmedabad: Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. (APSEZ) has crossed a major milestone by handling over 500 million tonnes of cargo, marking a significant moment in its growth journey and in India’s infrastructure development.
The company, which started in 1998 with a single port, has now expanded into a large network of 19 ports and terminals across India and overseas. Over the years, it has built a strong transport and logistics platform that supports trade and industrial growth in the country.
This achievement is not just about numbers. It reflects steady growth, better efficiency, and strong planning. APSEZ took 16 years to reach its first 100 million tonnes, but it has added each next 100 million tonnes much faster. This shows how the company has improved its operations and scale over time.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, said ports are important for the country’s growth and confidence. He thanked customers, partners, and governments for supporting the company’s journey. He also said that APSEZ is not only building ports but a complete logistics system that connects ports, rail, roads, warehouses, and cargo movement.
Today, APSEZ has a wide network covering most of India’s hinterland. It operates multiple logistics parks, trains, trucks, warehouses, and marine vessels. This strong network helps move goods smoothly across the country and to global markets.
