Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A tigress, aged between 8 to10 years, was found dead after getting trapped between two hard rocks in Kanha Tiger Reserve, Mandla, on Tuesday. It is believed that the tigress died due to a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall.
The body was found near the Sulkum river in the Mundidadar forest pocket. After an autopsy, the remains were consigned to flames.

This is the sixth feline death reported in Kanha this year, with five of them taking place inside the reserve area. Though the death appears to be natural, an investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause. Sources said the tigress's body was found intact, indicating no prima facie evidence of poaching.
